Delia and Tomas go to the utopian post-apocalyptic pre-school. It has an edible schoolyard, the kids choose mentors, and there's an initiation ceremony. The last story in this reading, "The Bad Kids and the Bullies" contains a compelling case for how to put the black sheep of the family to their highest use to the whole community's benefit.
